First off, as you watch this film, you will notice right off how much more intimate a wedding film can be when you have the dinner/luncheon filmed. Laurel & Blake had a dinner the night before and invited all the guests to introduce themselves and say something about or to the bride and groom. This made for some very compelling shots that I had to include in the highlight film. Second, to film a couple that has been together for 8 years and has been apart of each others family lives during that time really made for some deep ties within the wedding. Both families already knew each other well and that made for a fantastic wedding. Last, but definitely not least, the love they had for each other was so evident throughout the wedding and dinner, it made my job easy. The last shot of the film is the two of them looking at each other while they were dancing. There was no mystery there, there was no doubt. They are in love, they want to be together, and they would do anything to make that happen. I was so excited at the end of the reception knowing everything that I had just captured that I could hardly wait to put it all together. The only thing I left out of the highlight was the mother/son dance. It was fantastic!! But, in the end, I wanted the highlight film to be about Laurel and Blake so I have that as a separate video. You can watch it here.

The Wedding Photo Montage (The Slide Show)
Almost every wedding will have a photo montage a.k.a. slide show. So, this post really shouldn't be news to anyone but if you haven't seen one of our photo montages, you might want to watch the video before you decide you will do it yourself or have your uncle or best friend from elementary school do it. Is there a difference? Probably. Can we do it faster? Most likely. Is ours in high definition? Definitely.
Basically, the photo montage is a photo history of the bride and groom. Sometimes, the pictures are alternated between the bride and groom as they are growing up and sometimes they each get their own section. There is no correct way, this montage should be exactly how you want it. And usually following the growing up pictures, there will be a section of the bride and groom together through their dating, courtship, and engagement pictures (make sure to get permission from your photographer to include those pictures).
One of the most memorable photo montages I ever did was from 7-8 years ago. The couple had me put the pictures of them growing up side by side on the screen - the amazing thing about it....each picture of the bride matched the corresponding picture of the groom. I can't imagine how much time that took to put together. When their guests were watching the video, they were awestruck.
With that said, here is a photo montage from last month that I put together.

Ruth & Brady - Draper Temple Wedding Video
The Draper Temple this time of year can be so cold, but not on this day. The wind wasn't blowing and sun even peaked out to warm us all up. Ruth & Brady were so much fun to work with. I love shooting weddings where the couple already knows what to expect from me as a videographer. I shot Brady's sisters wedding 5 1/2 years ago and she has referred so many people to us since then, its almost like we are family now. The reception was at Millennial Falls in Draper which is always beautiful. They even had us bring our Photo Booth which is always a big hit at weddings. Here is the same day edit from the Temple that we played at the reception.

Kelsey & Wesley - SLC Temple Wedding Video
What a perfect day for a wedding. Kelsey & Wesley were all smiles the whole day. That is what happens when you've known each other for a long time and you can't wait to get married. My favorite part of the day was at the end of the reception when everyone started dancing. They just had so much fun, I wanted to join them.... : ) Here is the Temple same day edit that we played at the reception.

Amy & Karson - (utah wedding video)
Amy & Karson are two of the coolest people ever. I could hang out with them every day. It's always fun to shoot weddings when you've already done several for the family. We had already built up a friendship with the whole family which started 4 1/2 years ago when Kati & Jon got married. they have referred so many people to us since then, we can't thank them enough!! The highlight of the night was when Karson sang a song that he wrote to Amy while playing the guitar. It was very touching. And then Amy followed it up with her own rendition of a popular Marvin Gaye song : ) It was great!! So, here is the wedding video/film, whatever you want to call it. Enjoy.

MEGAN & DILLON – LAKE POWELL WEDDING HIGHLIGHT FILM
This Lake Powell Wedding Highlight Film was one of my favorite weddings to film ever!! First off, how can you go wrong when you get married at Lake Powell’s Antelope Point Marina? Second, the weather was perfect, not too hot at all (this wedding was on September 8th, 2012) which made some of the scenic shots too die for. Last but not least, anytime you have a destination wedding, you know that all of your guests really want to be there with you celebrating your wedding. That also makes for great shots to use in the wedding highlight film. Megan & Dillon were so relaxed the whole day. You could tell from the beginning that they were in love. All of their closest friends were there which makes the celebration even that much better. Immediately following the ceremony, we began getting shots of the family and friends, which is typical for a wedding, but because of the layout of the dock, we had to shoot across a section of water so I think everyone was nervous about someone falling in. Then, once that was done, we took Megan & Dillon over on the rocks by the water. It was here that we got our most favorite shots of the day. Unfortunately, we had some time restraints, like you usually do at a wedding, so we had to finish up a lot sooner than I wanted to but we were able to get the shots we needed to make this amazing wedding film. Once we got back to the marina, dinner started, which was amazing btw, and shortly after dinner, Megan & Dillon danced with their Dad and Mom. Having 6 kids, I always wonder what that moment will be like and when I saw the love they had with their parents, I could only hope that one day, when I dance with my daughters or my wife dances with our sons, that it would be similar. It was obvious that they were close with the parents; seeing the smiles, the tears, the hugs….. I wish all of the daddy/daughter and mother/son dances could be like Megan & Dillons. And then the party started, they hired a fantastic club style DJ who was mixing it up the whole night. At the end of the night, we climbed in these mini cars driven by the staff at Antelope Point Marina, and made the long trek back up to the parking lot where the sweetest BMW 7 series car was waiting to take them to their hotel. I can’t wait to go there again!!
After the wedding, Megan wrote this on WeddingWire.com about Pointe Digital. http://www.weddingwire.com/reviews/pointe-digital-lehi/66bcba9f968f973f.html
“I would recommend Pointe Digital to ANYONE look for a videographer. By the time I had considered a videographer my photography was already contracted….no problem for these guys! They worked hand in hand with my photographer and created such a beautiful video for us, I can’t believe this isn’t the FIRST thing I booked for my wedding. To any bride on the fence about videography, if you hire Pointe Digital you will NOT regret your investment when you get to watch all the parts of your wedding you did and did not get to experience, they get it all! In such a whirlwind of a day its easy to forget some of the small things that happened….you get to relive them when they’re captured so expertly by your videographer! As a plus, if there’s anything (or anyone) that you WANT to forget, they can make that happen to!
Could not be happier with my experience with Pointe Digital!”
